橋本知成展によせて
2020年秋、橋本知成はファッションブランドのショーで自らの作品をみせるという経験を得た。日常と非日常の境界で、素材の潜在的な力を先鋭化させるファッションの領域とのコラボレーションは、橋本の現在にどのような変化をもたらしただろうか。
橋本の作品は、焼成による収縮や酸化金属の化学反応といった、土の皮膜を形成する現象が集積して成立する。球体や多面体として立ち現れる造形は、自己表現に閉じることなく、感情や思念を削ぎ落とすことで存在の根源を照射する。幾何形体は、いわばものの本質を成す最小単位の形態であり、最も内容が充実した簡潔な姿形である。
今回の展示は、そんな幾何学的な立体のみで構成されるという。シンプルな演出の内奥に、存在の峻厳さや繊細さが共存した、きっと瑞々しい感覚に満ちた空間になるだろう。

In the autumn of 2020 Tomonari Hashimoto participated in a dynamic fashion show to exhibit his ceramic works. The collaboration with fashion inspired in him the power of radicalizing the potential of the artist’s material. The unique surface of his work is made by contracting the membrane of the clay with heat while inducing chemical reactions with oxidized metals. The spherical and polyhedron forms are stripped of emotions and thoughts, solely radiating its fundamental existence. Geometric shapes are the most effective expression of this essence of being; the forms concisely satisfied. This exhibition will consist exclusively of three-dimensional geometric works whose sensitivity and austerity of existence will infuse the atmosphere with fresh sensations beyond its apparent simplicity.
